Trauma

Single-event trauma, long-term complex trauma, acute stress, and PTSD each represent distinct experiences of emotional shock, physical injury, residual effects, and reactions.

I am here to help. I can listen to your story. I am dedicated to sitting with you and guiding you through what your body remembers and what your brain may seek to forget.

In the Internal Family Systems (IFS) framework, trauma therapy supports the processing of traumatic events and the enduring impact of trauma by addressing the interactions and dynamics among different parts. Whether from interpersonal trauma, childhood experiences, community violence, or other sources, many clients seek therapy to understand and process their emotions, navigate past and present feelings, and make sense of memories, no matter how fragmented or confusing they may be.

Therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model (ITATM), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy, somatic experiencing, and other modalities may be integrated. These approaches help alleviate distress, build coping skills, challenge harmful beliefs held by protective parts, and facilitate holistic healing that includes mindfulness practices, art therapy, and body-based therapies.

Trauma treatment offers the opportunity to confront fears within a safe environment and regain day-to-day functioning. It can improve relationships with Self and others, rebuild trust, and support long-term recovery and growth, fostering self-leadership and integration among parts within the internal system.

Every clinician emphasizes this, yet it remains vital: trauma treatment thrives within a safe therapeutic relationship between therapist and client. I am committed to fostering a supportive space that meets your treatment needs, aids in your recovery, and supports your personal growth.
